NKYFL League Match

Another fine performance from Northfleet Eagles today.

Longfield started by far the brighter team and got an early goal which seemed to spark a real fight back from the boys. After soaking up the pressure well we started to really get into our stride and produced a completely dominant performance from then on.

Ryan H. was first to score after one of Kians trademark throws and Alfie came agonisingly close with a brilliant header cleared off the line from a corner. TJ's introduction to the game after ten minutes saw him go close several times and the partnership he built in midfield saw Tye get our second of the game. To go in 2-1 at the break was a great result against a team that has only conceded 4 all season and there was an excited buzz amongst the boys who knew this game was ours for the taking.

With the half time talk consisting of little more than keep working hard and doing what you're doing the boys went out and did exactly that. The tackles remained firm and strong (Ashley really stepped up today, well done fella!!!) and the passing began to take its toll on Longfield and we were soon 3-1 up thanks to another from Ryan H. Longfield had their chances but Zac and Alfie snuffed them out giving Alfie the confidence to win the ball cleanly and take it up to half way before making a great pass down the line. Ryan J. in goal was unlucky for the early goal but more than made up for it with a top notch save that was sailing in top corner from a free kick.

Ryan H. continued to work hard up front and got his well deserved hat trick by reacting quickest to a loose ball and leaping over the keeper for a simple tap in.

With Longfield well beaten and only seconds on the clock we went to sleep a bit and let in the second but that can be forgiven after such a good match. Tyreece won his first ever parents Man of the Match trophy and Ryan H. took the Managers award for their hard work and great goals but this was truly a game when anyone could have taken the honours and a great team performance.

Well played everyone!!!!!
